Local amenities
The
village compromises of a local mini-supermarket, butchers, a bakery and
pub/restaurant. All within 1 minute walk from the village square.
The
village has it’s own outdoor swimming-pool located on top of a hill with a
marvellous view whilst swimming with a football-field alongside, post-office,
townhouse with tourist information office, 2 hairdressing salons, doctors,
dentist and chemist.
During
the summer the village enjoys its Sunday morning cheese and vegetable market
and numerous music festivals held on the village bowling-green, just behind our
house. On Thursdays the fish-monger visits.
The
Correze stream which can easily be accessed to cool down your tired feet after
an exhilarating walk through the forest and country-side. The village has two
chapels worth a brief visit, enjoying a great view over the village from the
elevated level.
A
local swimming lake, just 5 minutes outside the village, with a playing field
is welcomed during those hot afternoons for a cooling dip. Another lake with a
sandy-beach, attached restaurant and rowing boats provides constant joy to our
son digging in fries and beefsteak in-between dips in the lake. This site is a
10-15 minute drive.
