General Tramond is the famous person in the
canton as he helped design the 1886 lebel rifle. It was designed in 1886 and
was produced from 1887 to 1920 - therefore it was a successful model/invention.
What was so special about this model, well instead of using powder gunpowder,
gas powder was used. This gas powder did not leave any residue. It was a bolt
action rifle. 2 million, 880 thousand guns of this peticular model were made
and they weighed a massive weight - I wonder how they actually took them out to
war with them! 4.41 kg width a maximum of 10 ammo rounds. The ammunition used
was an 8mm Lebel ammo which was developed in 1892, some time after it was
produced, and it was the first smokeless gunpowder cartridge to be used.
